About the event
Ukrainian egg decoratingÂ
Beginning level-
Let’s welcome Spring and awaken the senses with bright color, the sweet smell of beeswax, and the light of a lit candle. The art of Pysanky, Ukrainian Easter egg decorating, is a centuries old tradition of decorating eggs with a dye and wax resist process.  This process is called the batik method. Pysanky is a Ukrainian word  that means to write. You will be guided through all the steps of transforming a plain egg into a work of art.Â
In this 2 hour class we will create one beginner design. Patty will guide you through the process while sharing some tips and tricks along the way. This is great for beginners or the experienced that would like to brush up their skills.Â
Given that we will be using an open flame to melt the beeswax, particpants should be at least 12 years of age or 10+ with an accompanying adult. Â This class is great for older children, teens, and adults alike. Â Space is extremely limited!
