Adult Drawing Class - Fall 2023 Session

Service Description

This class is meant to explore the art of drawing from basics to complex compositions and caters to artists at the beginner and intermediate levels. You will learn tips and techniques to apply to your practice while drawing from real life. You will learn about Value, Markplaking, and the difference between additive and subtractive drawing using charcoal. Each week you will be introduced to different still-life set-ups, and learn the proper procedure to start a drawing while learning how to draw the materials and their textures. You will be given the opportunity to transition what you have learned from drawing still life to portraiture. We will explore drawing through use of multiple mediums including graphite pencils and charcoal. This class is open to adults 16+, teens and adults who have a desire to expand upon their drawing skills and to build a strong foundation. Each participant will receive appropriate guidance based on where they are in the drawing process. Classes are held on Tuesdays throughout the 6-week session. All Materials are included. It is recommended that each participant has a personal sketch book and graphite pencil set with a quality eraser for personal practice outside of class. This class requires a minimum of (6) participants to be held.
